We are incredibly excited to have our Junior High 2 campers here, and we cannot wait to see what this week has in store!
After checking in and getting moved into their cabins, campers had the opportunity to take their swim test.
Then, it was time to get rolling! Campers were gathered at the Amphitheater to be introduced to our program staff and learn what they will be doing around camp this week. They then stood at attention as a few staff members demonstrated the proper way to lower and fold our country’s flag, as we will do every day. During this time, they also got to learn the game/song “D-O-W-N.”
Take Camp Home: Ask your camper to teach you “D-O-W-N” and play as a family!
Afterwards, campers got their dinner and went outside with their counselors to have a picnic dinner with their cabins and get to know each other.
Following supper, campers went into the chapel to learn about the rules and guidelines at camp before worship and chapel time.
Tonight, our speaker Phil Campbell talked about Judges, and specifically focused on the story of Barak (found in Judges 4 and 5).
Then came a short period of free time while the staff got ready for the Variety Show. Staff members put on a handful of goofy skits to let the giggles out before bed!
Take Camp Home: Ask your camper what their favorite skit was from the variety show!
Campers are now back in their cabins for nighttime cabin devotionals, and then it’s lights out.
