Super Kids 3 – Days 2 & 3

We’ve been having lots of fun at Camp this week! It is hard to believe we are over halfway through the summer. Each camper we see has their own unique story and we love getting to know them! These Super Kids have been extra special. The third day of Super Kids 3 is underway and everyone is having a good time.

Yesterday morning, we raised the flag and went to breakfast. Afterward, we cleaned our cabins and headed towards the Main Hall. During Chapel, we got to meet Serenity and Shaun Singh, our Missionary Monday Speakers. Before lunch, we had morning Options time and Cabin Adventures. Each day, counselors take their campers on a special Cabin Adventure around Camp!

After lunch, we played a few rounds of Capture the Cones at the North 40. Then they brought the squares to their counselors stationed around the Main site. During Free time, campers went swimming, made craftswent down the zip line, played laser tag, and for the 4 o’clock Option, we played SWAT in the A-Frame. After dinner, we played Free the Hostage. All the cabins were split into two teams who had to retrieve their hostages from the opposing team’s side of Camp. Everyone had fun and both teams were able to win a round!

After the game, we had Evening Free time until it was time for Chapel. We got to hear a message from our speaker, Maryn, and then we went back to our cabins and headed to bed. This morning we learned more of our Memory Verse–John 10:10-11–and sang about Spaghetti for our Morning Movement. After breakfast, everyone went back to their cabins for clean-up and did a great job for inspections! Then we went to Chapel and heard from Shepherd Zack and his sheep Barbara. During Options time, campers played tag, went on bug hunts, made paper airplanes, and colored with chalk in the Hub. Next, we went to lunch and had Taco in a Bag. Before Toes-up Time, we got a special visit from our friend Baby Mutton and his family, but the Big Bad Wolf took Baby Mutton away! Where is the Good Shepherd? Will we ever see Baby Mutton again?

TAKE CAMP HOME

Talk with your camper about Chapel. Ask them why God protects us and leads even when we go astray. Can they tell you how they’ve seen or experienced that Jesus is the Good Shepherd?

In the afternoon, we played a round of Staff Hunt. For this game, campers stayed in the Main Hall while all of our Summer Staff found a place to hide around Camp. Once campers were let outside, they raced to find everyone. If a camper found a staff member, they got to push them into the lake! After the game, we had Free time until dinner. This evening we hosted a Carnival! Campers went to stations to earn tickets. Tickets can be saved and put towards cabin points or used to put a staff member in the Dunk Tank! Now campers are in Chapel, hearing about the Gospel. After Chapel, we will go back to our cabins to get ready for bed and have devotional time.
