2016 Men’s Retreat @ Camp Lebanon
VISIT THE MEN’S RETREAT WEBPAGE
This year we are using a “Ted Talk” format at Men’s Retreat. Specifically, we will have 12 speakers on 12 topics for 12 minutes each. This year’s theme is “Man Talk – Life in ‘4D’” and will focus on growing a balanced life in a lopsided world. The key Scripture text is found in Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and with man.” (Luke 2:52) Physical. Mental. Spiritual. Relational. As Luke 2:52 shows, our Master is the model.
Meet this year’s Men’s Retreat Speakers!
Paul Bradley
Senior Dean of Student Life, University of Northwestern – Saint Paul
Paul Bradley serves as Senior Dean of Student Life at University of Northwestern, where he has worked since 1994. Born in Maine, he grew up as a pastor’s kid in Massachusetts and then became a missionary kid for 9 years when his parents moved to Guam (Micronesia) to work with the people of Palau. Paul received a Biblical Studies degree from LeTourneau University in Longview, Texas, and a Masters degree from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. He enjoys music, camping, hiking, house projects, computer technology and hanging out with friends at coffee shops.
Roger Negaard
Retired Businessman
Roger Negaard is 77 years old, the middle child of nine siblings who grew up poor and slept 3 in a single bed. He was a very shy person growing up and would not do any shopping for fear someone would ask him, “may I help you?” Roger was told he was not very smart but was a very hard worker. So he worked hard and got lots of strokes for it. This motivated him to accomplish many successful business ventures. As a young teenager, while home alone, Roger accepted Jesus as his Savior, bowing in front of the TV watching a Billy Graham crusade. Later in life he came to realize what that all meant and began to grow in his faith. Roger and Gail have been married for 54 years. As a married man with a family he felt strongly about being an influence to his 4 married children and 13 grandchildren (and now one GREAT!). He has a very special relationship with each of them and is amazed at the opportunities to help them see how God has made them unique. When God talks and puts something on his mind, he has learned to respond.
Matt Clausen
Senior Pastor, First Baptist Minneapolis
Matt’s passion for the church, the community, and life transformation is evident in every aspect of his leadership and teaching at First. He received his BA in History from Yale University, and MDiv and DMin from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul. When not at church, Matt and his wife Erika spend much of their time following their kids, Madelyn and Isaiah, from one high school event to another: soccer, gymnastics, swimming, orchestra, choir, or track and field.
