During Spring Quilt, many of our guests took advantage of the opportunity to take a road trip to Northland Woolens in Nelson, MN. Northland Woolens makes socks, hats, and gloves. The quilters were able to tour the factory, watch the knitting in action, and make purchases.
One of the favorite moments of the tour was getting to watch the socks being made. After a line of socks has been knitted, they go through a machine that turns them right side out again. Some of the ladies even got to try the machine themselves!
It was such a joy to visit this knitting factory in the heart of Minnesota, and to get to know the family that runs it. Quilters were entranced by the different machines and methods used to create such beautiful pieces, and loved browsing through piles of socks and mittens. Camp Lebanon really loves to connect with local businesses in this way, and to help our guests find and appreciate them! It is a blessing to celebrate the hard work and talents of others!
The last weekend of Quilt is behind us now. We made it through the first pitch, the 7th inning stretch, and the final lap around the bases! Spring Quilt 2017 was a quilting season to remember, but as always we look ahead to our upcoming opportunities to welcome guests young and old to Camp Lebanon! We can’t wait to see what God has in store for the rest of the spring season at Camp, and into the summer! Play Ball!
