Camp Journal: Thank You God for a Really Great COW! Mooooo.

The first ever Camp on Wheels (COW) event brought the joy of Camp Lebanon to the Twin Cities this past weekend!  Families had the opportunity to register for summer bible camps, spring events, and more, all while letting their kids burn some of their energy playing octoball, 9 square in the air, and other favorite summer games. Bobber Bill led his classic (& reinvented) Crazy Games, the Canteen was enjoyed by kids & adults alike, and everyone came together to sing Camp songs like Pharaoh, Pharaoh and Swimming Buddy!

Year-round and summer staff traveled to Meadow Creek Church in cars loaded up with foursquare balls, candy, and carpet squares.  No distance is too far for those who love Camp Lebanon, and it was so much fun to see all kinds of faces, new and familiar, connected in the love of Camp!

At the end of the Rally, after learning the winner of the March Craziness brackets (#4 Camp Food!) and watching Camp staff put on a goofy musical skit, Bobber Bill shared about the verse 1 John 3:1.

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

We heard about what the word “lavish” really means through Bill’s story about ice cream. Still thinking about ice cream loading up train cars and falling from the sky, we all joined hands, shouted “Thank you, God, for a really great COW! Mooooooo!” and ran out to enjoy FREE ice cream cones.

It was so fun to connect with families who love Camp Lebanon!  What a great way to kick off the spring and summer seasons at Camp, by reminding each other of why we do what we do!  At the end of the day, everyone was more than ready for spring and summer 2017!
