Junior High 3 – Day 5

At last night’s chapel, Drew talked about trees.  Specifically, he talked about the Fruit of the Spirit, and the Good Gardener (Jesus).  When we abide in Him, our lives will show it!  Campers prayed together with their cabins for more of the Fruit of the Spirit to be shown in their lives.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about what Drew had to say about trees and the Gardener.  What was Fruits of the Spirit did they ask Jesus to help them develop in their life?

The morning started an hour later today, because it was SLEEP IN DAY!  Campers got to spend an extra hour in bed, before rising and shining.  Some campers braved the chilly water for their second-to-last Polar Dip of the week.

It was a really beautiful day, with perfect sweatshirt weather for most of the morning!  At Flag Raising before breakfast, campers practiced their memory verse for the week (Titus 2:11-13) before heading down for their meal.  Then they had TAG Time, Morning Chapel, and Morning Free Time.  Then it was time to line up for lunch, where Ashley (our MC) called down four counselors to participate in a game she had invented – using just their faces, they had to retrieve 10 gummy worms from a bowl full of chocolate pudding.  After lunch (today’s lunch was turkey & cheese subs, veggies, chips, and fresh fruit), Campers went to Mail Call, and then chose their last Clinic or Seminar for the week.

Free Time was a bit quieter today, especially at the waterfront.  But some campers still got in the water to enjoy the water toys one last time!  Lots of campers stayed on the Hub, playing games like carpetball or Castle Square and Octoball.  It was a very relaxing and fun afternoon for these campers!

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about their last full day of Camp.  What were some of the activities they did?  Did they spend any time in the outdoor craft room?  Did they go boating, or swimming, or fishing?  Did they explore any of the hiking trails with their cabin mates?

Campers just finished chapel, and now they’ll have some evening Free Time to get ready for the Campfire Trek out to Bass Point!  Then it will be time for Cabin Devos and Lights out.  It’s hard to believe that tomorrow is the last day of Junior High 3!  Parents will be arriving at 10am for the Closing Rally, where we’ll reflect, give out prizes, and Thank God for an incredible week!
