The first day of Super Kids and the first day of summer Camp for 2017 started with a chilly dunk in the lake as campers and counselors lined up for the polar dip (the best way to wake yourself up at Camp). After a delicious breakfast featuring Camp’s famous oatmeal, campers went to Skills classes where they learned how to do outrageous things like canoeing, archery, and outdoor survival. Then, in morning chapel, we learned how to use our Bibles as a tool and how to find specific verses in them.
This afternoon, campers played a series of mini games with their cabins on our lower field. After a lot of laughter and cabin bonding, the campers were off to free time! Some chose to swim, some rode the Screamin’ Eagle Zipline, and some played wiffleball on Camp’s new Legend’s Field.
After a wonderful dinner, complete with cake, we played an exciting game of Capture-the-Flag, then we re-fueled with treats from the Canteen. We ended the night with chapel where our speaker Brian Schrader presented the Gospel to the campers by telling them how to “join God’s team.”
The summer is off to a great start, and we are all looking forward to what Tuesday holds. Game on!
