Memorial Weekend Family Camp

Memorial Weekend at Camp is always a blast! We welcomed over 40 families to join us in the fun and celebrate the holiday Camp Lebanon style. Together we honored the Lord by spending time in His creation. We sat around campfires, worshiped the Lord, played games in the hub, and spent in fellowship with one another.

As families arrived, we played carpet ball, bean bags, pool, and explored main site. We kicked the weekend off with a campfire roast full of hot dogs, s’mores, and fun! After dinner, we enjoyed Chapel and worship. Closing the night, we opened Canteen and hosted a Timberwolves watch party in the Main Hall.

On Saturday, we started early with flag raising and breakfast. Following breakfast, we returned to the Main Hall for worship. In Chapel, our speaker Jeremy Adelman lead the adults while kids split up for individual lessons. After their group devotions, we played Mighty Mighty Scoop Noodle Challenge on the Lower Field. Everyone enjoyed Free Time by hanging out in the Hub, battling in laser tag, and visiting the jump pad! Later in the day we held our annual World Cup soccer tournament at the North 40.

In the evening, families braved the harsh waters and journeyed across the lake and back in canoes and kayaks. With the assistance of a few rescues from our pontoons, everyone made their way back safely and won by having fun! After everyone got the chance to warm up, Don B showed off his magic tricks and juggling skills. The audience was left impressed after Don incorporated members of the crowd in his tricks and brought his grandsons on stage to show off their moves!

Sunday was just as eventful. With early morning polar dippers and some treats from Turtle Bay Coffee Company, we started the day off full of energy and joy! We enjoyed the sunny weather with projectiles, gym tours, zip line, laser tag, frisbee golf, and a carpet ball tournament. Families also enjoyed crafts and swimming throughout the day. After dinner we played dodge ball in the sand volleyball courts and Krazy Kickball at the wiffleball stadium. As the sun went down, we made our way out to Bass Point on the classic Campfire Trek. We sang songs, played Gorilla Gets the Man, heard a message from Jeremy, made s’mores, and got another surprise from Don B when he juggled fire!

On Monday morning, we celebrated Memorial Day with a special flag raising, honoring our amazing veterans, past and present.

Before the final chapel we prayed for our summer Leadership Team as they head North Shore to for a few days of team building before we officially kick off summer with our first youth camp in couple weeks. Congratulations and good luck to Cody, Grant, Abby and Elena!
