We are already on Day 3 of Junior High 1! These fun-loving and laid-back Junior Highers have truly made this week so fun. They have not hesitated to jump in and participate in all the fun that Camp has to offer, and it has been such a joy to witness their smiles and laughter all around Camp! These last three days have been an absolute blast and we are looking forward to the next two days left with these wonderful campers!
On Monday, we started the day off with our Camp Picture. Then we raised the flag, sang about sheep, and learned the first part of our Memory Verse. After breakfast, we cleaned up our cabins and then found a spot around Camp to do our TAG Time. TAG Time is a daily practice all campers and staff participate in at Camp Lebanon. It is a set aside time for us to focus on good and be in direct communication with Him without any distractions. Next we split up for Men’s and Women’s Chapel where we heard from our missionaries for the week, Dan and Barb. Following Morning Chapel, campers headed out for some cabin time, and then had Free time til Lunch.
During Mail Call, we saw the Men in Black recover stolen Mail from the aliens who were causing chaos across at Camp. After a successful rescue mission, we went to Clinics and Seminars and heard from staff about topics they are passionate about. Options yesterday included Apologetics, Choosing Friends, Spiritual Warfare, Just Dance & Worship, and Wilderness Survival. Then we headed into Free time where campers swam, went to the Craft Room, visited the Trading Post, and had lots of fun! After Dinner, we played Capture the Cones–a new game at Camp Lebanon this year! Before Chapel, we had Evening Free time and then after worship and a message from our speaker, Zach Klein, we went to bed.
Sheep need a shepherd who keeps them together, keeps them in their pen, and finds them when they go missing; Jesus does the same thing for us.

This morning, we had a chilly Flag Raising before breakfast. After cleaning our cabins, we found a spot for TAG Time, then girls headed to the Main Hall and boys gathered in the Dining Hall for Morning Chapel. After Chapel, campers got ready for the Volleyball Tournament. Despite the rain, we had lots of fun on the Lower Field and on the Sand Court in the Hub. India Cabin is our winner for the Girls and Germany is overall 2024 Junior High 1 Volleyball Tournament Champion. Now campers are enjoying Free time until Dinner. Later, we will meet back at the Steps of Faith for Flag Lowering and again after eating for Mail Call. Tonight, we will have Clinics and Seminars, Evening Free time, and then Chapel to finish off the day.
TAKE CAMP HOME
Ask your camper about what they learned in Chapel last night. Can they tell you how people are like sheep? Why do we need a shepherd to lead and protect us? How does God fill that role as our Good Shepherd?
Tonight, we will have Clinics and Seminars, Evening Free time, and then Chapel to finish off the day. Our speaker Zach will be telling us about how Jesus us the Good Shepherd and He leads us away from sin. We will take another look at our Theme Verse for the Summer, John 10:10-11.
