Junior High 3 – Days 2 & 3

We are already on Day 3 of Junior High 3! These fun-loving and laid-back Junior Highers have truly made this week so fun. They have not hesitated to jump in and participate in all the fun that Camp has to offer, and it has been such a joy to witness their smiles and laughter all around Camp! These last three days have been an absolute blast and we are looking forward to the next two days left with these wonderful campers!

On Monday, we started the day off with Polar Dip. Then we raised the flag, sang about Fred the Moose, and learned the first part of our Memory Verse. After breakfast, we cleaned up our cabins and then found a spot around Camp to do our TAG Time. TAG Time is a daily practice all campers and staff participate in at Camp Lebanon. It is a set aside time for us to focus on good and be in direct communication with Him without any distractions. Next we split up for Men’s and Women’s Chapel. Following Morning Chapel, campers headed out for some cabin time, and then had Free time til Lunch.

During Mail Call, we heard the story of the Drippy Slippies and learned about forgiveness. Dueing Clinics and Seminars we heard from staff about topics they are passionate about. Options yesterday included Apologetics, Choosing Friends, the Power of the Tongue, and Just Dance & Worship. Then we headed into Free time where campers went to the Craft Room, visited the Trading Post, watched Bluey in the Main hall, and had lots of fun! After Dinner, we got our Bibles and went to Chapel. Afterwards, we had Evening Free time and Canteen. Before bed, staff hosted a Variety Show for campers.

This morning, we had a sunny Flag Raising before breakfast. After cleaning our cabins, we found a spot for TAG Time, then girls headed to the Main Hall and boys gathered in the Dining Hall for Morning Chapel. After Chapel, campers gathered with their cabins for cabin time and then had morning Free time until Lunch. In the afternoon, we went to Clinics and Seminars. Options today included Identity, Sports, Wilderness Survival, Art, and Biblical Manhood. During afternoon Free time, the sun was shining and campers got enjoy the beautiful weather in God’s creation. After Dinner, campers got ready for the Volleyball Tournament. Despite the heat, we had lots of fun up at the North 40. Denmark Cabin is our winner for the Girls and Germany is the winner for the boys. Later we will have a final match to decide the overall 2024 Junior High 3 Volleyball Tournament Champion.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about what they learned in Chapel last night. Can they tell you how people are like sheep? Why do we need a shepherd to lead and protect us? How does God fill that role as our Good Shepherd?

After the tournament, we had Evening Free time, and then Chapel to finish off the day. Our speaker Matt told us about how Jesus us the Good Shepherd and He leads us away from sin. We will took another look at our Theme Verse for the Summer, John 10:10-11. Make sure to check out Camp’s social media for more regular updates on the week.
