“As a dad of three boys, I was always looking for those “dad moments” to experience with my boys. For about 10 years each spring, the Dads ‘N’ Lads Retreat was just that. From the time that my oldest was eight, we spent the weekend up at Camp Lebanon creating great memories. From the polar plunge, four square games, medallion hunt, pontoon rides, wacky Olympics, ping-pong tournaments and all the other great activities provided, my boys looked forward to that weekend in April all year long. Especially, after finally, and I mean finally, winning the hockey tournament! It took 10 years, but we did it!
But way more importantly was the time I was able to spend with my boys studying God’s word together as men who are on a journey with God. From hearing Bobber Bill share his heart, to having other godly, real men share their journeys and struggles with me and my boys, these things all added up to help develop my boys into the men of God that they have become. I will always have a fond place in my heart for Camp Lebanon and for Dads ‘N’ Lads! Now, my boys need to start making me some grandsons so I can bring them up with me!”
