Tuesday at Camp was filled with more new and exciting ways to get to know each other and to learn. Once again, our day started with the Polar Dip! A thick blanket of fog over the lake this morning added an extra layer of excitement to jumping in. Then, everyone dried off and put on some layers for the chilly morning! We had a delicious breakfast, then we had our first Skills classes for the day.
Next, we had morning chapel where Laura Orpen as “The Rocket” taught us about the importance of teamwork and how to live out good teamwork in our daily lives. We learned a lot from her this morning! Then, we had a tasty lunch of walking tacos, and our next Skills classes.
After Skills, we had a bit of rest time before our big game for the day. Today, the game was everyone’s favorite: the Staff Hunt! Our staff hid all over Camp, and if a camper found them, they got to push that staff member in the lake! As the Staff Hunt ended and our soggy staff left the lake, it was time for Free Time.
Today, Free Time featured swimming, tie-dye, chalk drawing, boating, and the Screamin’ Eagle Zipline. We had a great day enjoying the beautiful weather! After Free Time, we had a picnic dinner of burgers, salad, and cookies before everyone’s next favorite event: the carnival!
The carnival featured a lot of fun games, face paint, popcorn and cotton candy, and even a slip & slide! The carnival is a highlight of the week for many campers, and it’s a great chance to win cabin points by playing games. Now, the campers are in evening chapel with our speaker Nate Miller. Tonight, Nate is talking about discipleship and what it looks like to encourage each other to follow Christ! Tune in for more fun tomorrow!
