Sleep in Day!

This morning was sleep in day, so we got an extra hour of sleep, and it feels great!

Another hot day today to savor our last full day of activities with our Junior High 2 campers!

This morning was sleep in day, so we got an extra hour of sleep, and it feels great! Our morning still began normal with polar dip, flag raising, memory verse actions (John 13:35), breakfast, TAG time and then morning chapel.

Take Camp Home: Ask your camper to go through the actions of their memory verses this week (Colossians 3:12-14 and John 13:35). Then, see if you can come up with your own actions to other verses to learn together!

In women’s chapel, we talked about how our identity is found in God and not in the things of this world or the words of others, and how we should live because of it. In men’s chapel, they talked about how discipleship takes everything, and how here at camp we are sort of in a bubble and we need to work to take home the things we’ve learned this week.

After morning chapel, campers had morning free time and then lunch. After lunch, we had the mail call skit!

We had clinics and seminars after lunch and mail call today so that we still had lunch at they same time. Today, they got to choose from the same options they had on Tuesday.

Following clinics and seminars, campers went into free time! We had to temporarily close the waterfront an zipline due to thunder, but it was still a beautiful day out to play games or go inside for crafts!

After free time, we had flag lowering, and then we went in for supper. When supper was finished, it was time for evening chapel. Today, we talked about King David and Jesus and how they both humbled themselves. Phil also encouraged the campers to discipline themselves to lay their struggles at God’s feet as they go from here.

Take Camp Home: Ask your camper what they learned from this week’s chapels. Did they have any interesting conversations about their faith? Do they have more questions they need answered?

Now, campers have a little more free time leading into the campfire tonight! In tomorrow’s blog, I will briefly share about the campfire and include some pictures from tonight.

After the campfire, campers will head back to their cabins for devotionals, and then it will be lights out for the night.
