Junior High 2 – Day 2

Last evening’s game was a hit!! Campers braved getting wet and crossing into the enemy’s territory as they tried to find and free the captive.  Similar to Capture the Flag, Free the Hostage left teams strategizing, forming a strong offense and defense.

This morning, campers had the opportunity to jump in Cedar Lake after waking up!  It was a beautiful morning on the water front, with no wind, the lake looked like glass as it reflected the morning sun.

At flag raising, campers stood together as we said the Pledge of Allegiance before our morning movement.  We also started memorizing our Memory verses for the week, Titus 2:11-13.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Campers have been learning the actions for the memory verse this week.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation, has appeared to all people, and it teaches us to say no to ungodliness but yes to living self-controlled, upright and Godly lives in this present time, while wait for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Titus 2:11-13 (Camp Lebanon Version)

Ask your camper to teach you the actions!

Campers broke out as they attended Men’s and Women’s chapel.  At Women’s chapel, the ladies are going through the four seasons.  Today they looked at fall and the harvest.  Anna Watkins reminded us to be mindful about the seeds we are sowing.  Are we being intentional about our friendships?  Do our friends encourage us and point us to the Lord?  Are we pointing our friends God, believers and unbelievers?  The seeds we sow will impact our relationships as they either push us apart or draw us together.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Campers went on Cabin Adventures right before lunch.  Everyone played a different game or had a unique adventure.  Ask your camper what they did as a Cabin!!

After a tasty lunch, mac’ ‘n’ cheese, chicken strips, salad, and an apple or orange, campers gathered for the Mail Call skit before attended clinics and seminars.

Afternoon free time was filled activities in the Hub, Craftroom and Waterfront.  A few favorites are Carpetball, Octoball and Four Square!

After dinner, everyone headed up to the North 40 for a fun game of Shipwreck!  Campers had to travel as a cabin as they gathered treasure while defending and repairing their ship when it was attacked.  The cabins’ treasure coves were filled to bursting and everyone had fun working as a team!

After the game, campers still had enough energy for a couple action songs as we gathered for evening Chapel.  Come back tomorrow to hear what Jon shared with the campers!  Now off to bed for a good night’s rest!
