Senior High – Day 2

Good evening from Camp Lebanon!  It’s been a great first full day of Senior High Camp!

At Chapel last night, we met our speaker for the week, Drew Zuehlke. He encouraged us to begin the week like Zacchaeus.  Zacchaeus was wealthy, unliked by the people and known by all as a sinner.  He climbs a tree to see Jesus who then stops and calls him down.  Zaccheus responds by coming down promptly.  He humbles himself and acknowledges his sin, going from someone who is taking from others to someone who gives back.  Drew encouraged us to be real with our struggles and humble ourselves so we can connect with one another and have incredible encounters with God as he seeks to work in our lives.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Drew’s prayer for campers this week is that they would be reminded of our creator.  Ask your camper how they were reminded of the creator this week!

At the sound of the first bell ring, campers had the opportunity to do the Polar Dip!  They can jump in the lake first thing in the morning, winning cabin points if they do it each day of the week.

After a quick shower, everyone met at the Amphitheater for flag raising.  Campers stood at attention as we said the Pledge of Allegiance before heading to the Dining Hall for breakfast.

Campers attended morning Chapel and enjoyed morning free time before attending clinics and seminars.  With a Biblical focus the topics ranged from Mental Health to Football.  There was something for everyone to enjoy!

During afternoon free time, campers could pick from a number of different activities.  The water front was a favorite today as campers enjoyed the Raft and other water toys.  Senior Highers had the special option to go tubing!

The dinner theme tonight was Board Games!  The kitchen prepped a tasty meal made of game night food.  We had pizza, mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings, fruit and brownies.

After dinner, campers learned the rules for the Space game!  Built like a live action board game, campers could gain currency to conquer other planets and gather the most victory points in order to win.

Teams rallied as they strategized and used their strengths to master the game!

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about the Space Game!  What strategy did they take?  What would they do different next time?

It has been a wonderful first full day of Senior High!  Check back tomorrow to hear more about your campers’ adventures!
