Super Kids 4, Day 2

Welcome back! Yesterday was full of the funnest fun possible at camp, and today is going to be even better! Let’s pick up where we left off

After morning chapel, it was time for skillz! Campers got to choose anything from fort building to fishing. They practiced skillz for a little while, and then it was time for cabin adventure! Cabins grouped up to do something fun together. There were so many fun games and adventures happening!

Next was lunch!! We all lined up at the steps of faith and watched the counselors play a goofy game before heading down to the dining hall. After a delicious meal, we went back to the steps to meet Flora and Boot again. This time, Swipes the Beaver stole the map leading to the greatest treasure! Oh no! Hopefully they will find it again soon.

One of the highlights of the day was next up. A special game called Icky Sticky! There were four barrels of water in the middle of a circle of chairs, and the goal of the game was to keep your counselor the most dry How do you do that, you may ask? By getting all the other counselors as wet as possible, of course!

Ask your camper about the games we play at camp.  Which one was their favorite?  Do they remember the rules?  Can they tell you something fun that happened while playing that game?

After Icky Sticky was free time! (Most campers favorite time of day!) Yesterday’s free time highlight was swimming! Camp has so many fantastic water toys. From water mats, to a diving raft, to the Rocket, there are so many fun toys to use while swimming.

The evening closed out with flag lowering and another game. Then we headed to chapel. During last night’s chapel, Jackson taught us about three questions. Who is God, who is Jesus, and who are we. First, we went to Genesis 1 and saw that God is the awesome creator of everything, he is eternal, and he is powerful. Then, we looked at the book of John and saw that Jesus was a man (John 1:14), that He was the son of God (John 3:16), and that he is also God himself (John 1:1). Lastly, we looked at the fact that we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) to be in a personal relationship with him and that we are sinners in need of a savior (Romans 3:23 & 6:23). Jackson reminded us that because Jesus is the creator of life, we can find new life in him. We have to make a choice to leave our old life behind, but Jesus is faithful to provide a way to give us new life in him.

Because Jesus is the creator of life, He can give us new life!

TAKE CAMP HOME

Talk to your camper about Monday night chapel. What was something that stood out to them? Can they retell the creation story to you?

The bell rang promptly at 7:40am this morning to get ready for the polar dip! After the campers changed and got ready for the day we went to flag raising and breakfast. Today’s breakfast was french toast sticks, fruit, ham, and oatmeal. Yummy!

Our next event of the day was chapel. Today we sang two of our favorite action songs here at Camp, Pharaoh, Pharaoh, and Rise and Shine (or Arky, Arky). Everyone loved dancing around to the songs!

Next up is Skillz time! Campers are meeting at the steps right now to pick out which skill they want to try today!

As we continue through this week, pray that the Campers would experience God is a real way. Pray that they will be touched by God’s great love and grace for them and that they would have an absolute blast learning about it.
