PRAISE GOD for a mega fun start to the New Year! Over 160 grade schoolers and leaders gathered on January 5-7 for Mega Fun to experience the “Funnest Fun!” and to learn about the GOOD SHEPHERD. “Bobber Bill” shared fun facts about sheep. (Did you know sheep smell with their toes and see behind without turning around?) He also showed how the Bible describes people as sheep. We get scared, are tempted to eat bad things, and tend to wander. Thankfully, we have a GOOD SHEPHERD who leads, feeds, protects and rescues!
John 10:10-11 – Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
PRAISE GOD for a record January! Over 850 guests filled three Camp events and one big rental. God provided just enough snow and ice so kids could enjoy broomball and tubing (two weekends anyway)! With both super cold and super warm, we can also PRAISE GOD for hand warmers, hot chocolate, and laser tag (used to delight guest groups in the near 50-degree weather!)
Above all, PRAISE GOD that Camp continues to be “A Meeting Place with God!” As Bobber Bill would say, Camp is not so much about the 859 guests who showed up in January, but about that “one lost sheep” who heard the Truth and received the “Good News!” about the Good Shepherd, Jesus!
