A summer youth camper has a whole lot of “Funnest Fun!” to experience in one week. The joy of being in a cabin with their friends. The thrill of night games. The chill of a Polar Dip and the freshness of Cedar Lake. The fun of Laser Tag and the Screamin’ Eagle Zipline. The laughter in the Craft Room. The silliness of the Summer Staff. And fishing, chapel singing, Octoball, slip-n-slides, campfires, and so much more. But, the best experience of all is the Love of Jesus!
To help proclaim the “Good News!” of God’s Word, in 2019 Camp embarked on sharing the FOUR “Big Truth Topics.” Each theme helped campers and staff get to know the awesome, mighty, risen, living Jesus, who really loves them.
- 2019 Awesome Creator (Genesis 1:1,31)
- 2021 Mighty Savior (Titus 2:11-13)
- 2022 Risen Lord (John 11: 25-26)
- 2023 Living Word (John 1:1, 2, 3 & 14)
When last summer ended, we knew we needed to add one more. So, now we are excited to announce the “Big Truth Topic” for 2024: “Good Shepherd!”
As we all know, children and teens are challenged every day to navigate a challenging world! Thankfully, in “The Good Shepherd” we have a personal, loving Trail Guide, who knows our names, cares deeply about our needs, pursues us when we get lost, and protects us with His life! This Jesus tells us,
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that you may have life and have it to the full. I am The Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:10-11)
