2024 SENIOR HIGH

It’s officially time for Senior High 2024! Campers and staff have been looking forward to this week all summer and it is finally here! The week is off to a great start. We can already tell these campers are going to have tons of fun this week spending time in fellowship and worshipping in God’s wonderful creation!

Once everyone arrived and had the chance to settle into their cabins, it was time for “Who’s Who” at the Steps of Faith. During Senior High week, each night for dinner we have a theme meal. Tonight’s theme was Lumberjack! Once everyone was ready, the non-counseling staff introduced themselves to campers. Then each cabin got a chance to create a cheer and introduce themselves to the rest of camp! Afterwards, we lowered the flag and went to dinner.

Following dinner, each cabin went on a camp tour. Counselors showed campers the Buddy Board, Canteen lines, where to go for laser tag and zip line, and where we will have Chapel. After tours, we gathered for rules and the first chapel of the week! Campers met our speaker for the week, Nate Miller. Nate introduced himself and his family, and then spoke a little about his message for the week.

Campers had Evening Free time and Canteen while everyone got ready for our first game! Last night we played a few rounds of Spicy Free the Hostage. For this special edition of the game, all of the cabins were split up into two teams: light and dark. All of Main site was then divided into two sides. Each team had a ‘home side’ of camp with three hostages hidden on each side. The goal was for each team to find the hostages on the opposing side of camp without getting caught, but teams also needed to defend the hostages on their side! To make the game extra spicy, we also had hundreds of mini sheep hidden around Camp. Each sheep the campers brought back counted as additional points for their team!

TAKE CAMP HOME

Talk to your camper about the first night of Camp.  What do they remember doing with their cabin that first night?  What was something they were hoping to learn during their week?

After the game, we went through our Three T’s: ‘Before you Tuck in, brush your Teeth, and use the Toilet.’ Then we went back to our cabins to get ready and have a devotional time.
