2026 Junior High 2

Junior High 2 was a week packed with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories. While smoky skies from wildfires in northern Minnesota and Canada led to changes in some of our outdoor plans, campers embraced every opportunity to make the most of their week. Their flexibility, positive attitudes, and excitement made Junior High 2 one to remember.

The first half of the week, campers took full advantage of some of their favorite camp activities. They soared through the trees on the zipline, battled it out during laser tag, and spent time at the waterfront making memories with friends. Whether they were trying something new or enjoying a favorite activity, there was no shortage of adventure.

One of the week’s favorite all-camp games was Free the Hostage, where campers split into two teams and ventured across camp to rescue hidden staff members from the opposing side. Teamwork, strategy, and fun made for an action-packed competition that had campers running all over camp.

Friendly competition was also on full display during the volleyball tournament, with cabins cheering one another on through every match. Russia cabin claimed the girls’ championship, while Germany cabin earned the boys’ title, giving both cabins plenty to celebrate after an exciting tournament.

Another crowd favorite was Slime Wars, a twist on the classic water wars. Campers splashed, dodged, and laughed their way through slime, making for one of the messiest, and most memorable, events of the week.

Campers also had the opportunity to showcase their creativity during the Camper Variety Show. From dances to comedy to skits, campers stepped onto the stage with confidence, encouraging one another and filling the room with applause and laughter.

As air quality concerns kept everyone indoors at times, camp simply found new ways to have fun. The gym and activity spaces were full of energy as campers enjoyed crafts, basketball, nine square, indoor four square, mafia, board games, and plenty of time to connect with their cabinmates. Even though the scenery changed, the excitement never slowed down, proving that camp is just as much about the connections as it is the activities.

One of the biggest highlights of the week came during the unforgettable Staff Hunt. Staff members scattered across camp and did their best to stay hidden while campers searched to find them. Once a staff member was discovered, campers earned the privilege of escorting them to the waterfront for the ultimate reward… pushing them into the lake! It quickly became one of the most talked about events of the week, with campers celebrating every successful find.

While the activities made for an incredible week, chapel remained the heart of Junior High 2. Each day, campers gathered to worship together, hear God’s Word, and spend time reflecting on what it means to follow Christ. Through engaging messages from our speaker Joe, worship, and cabin discussions, campers were challenged to deepen their faith, ask meaningful questions, and encourage one another in their walk with Jesus. It was encouraging to see campers growing spiritually throughout the week and making decisions to build their lives centered on Christ.
