Last night, God refreshed Camp with a cool rain storm that nourished the grass, flowers, and trees. Campers and staff spent some extra quality time with their pillows this morning as we all enjoyed the extra hour of rest that Sleep-in-day brought us, and we started our last full day of Camp feeling energized.
After the campers rolled out of bed and did the Polar Dip one last time, we had breakfast and morning chapel. Today, the guys talked about the importance of Work and the girls talked about Sisterhood.
After lunch and our last hilarious mail call skit, we had Clinics and Seminars in the afternoon. Campers played basketball, learned how to knit, participated in an improv acting class, or went to various seminars about how to live out a Christian faith. Then, it was free time!
Today during free time, campers rode the Screamin’ Eagle Zipline, went swimming, made crafts, played Mafia, and went boating. Free time was followed by a Camp favorite for dinner: calzones! Big pillows of pizza left everyone feeling full and happy.
In chapel tonight, Phil Campbell wrapped up the series that he has been taking us through all week. We finished talking through Hebrews 12, and Phil gave us encouragement for how to continue to grow in Christ after we leave Camp.
Now, we are getting ready to enjoy our traditional campfire to celebrate the end of the week. We’re looking forward to fun music and praising God together one more time before the campers all leave tomorrow.
