Our last full day of Junior High Camp for the summer started with a wonderful extra hour of sleep. After the Polar Dip and enjoying some tasty breakfast sandwiches, we headed into our final split chapel for the summer. Today, the girls talked about Standing up for Your Sister, and the guys talked about Work. We are so thankful for the conversations and revelations that have come out of morning chapels this summer.
After chapel, we had a little bit of Canteen time, and then lunch. After lunch and a last fun mail-call skit, we had our final session of Clinics and Seminars. Clinics and Seminars have also taught us a lot this summer; we are sad that they’re over, but we’re thankful for all that was taught and learned through them this year.
Next, it was Free Time! Today, Free Time featured swimming, crafts, a game of Mafia, the Screamin’ Eagle Zipline, and a ton of other games. Some campers even made a Hop-Scotch course going all the way from New Zealand cabin to the bell tower! It was a great time to be goofy and have fun with all the friends that we made this week.
We had dinner after Free Time, and tonight was everyone’s favorite meal: calzones! We love these delightful giant pizza pockets. After dinner was our final evening chapel with our speaker Kirsten King. Tonight she wrapped up her message from the week, using more fun stories that were saturated with truth. We loved having Kirsten here this week.
Now, the campers are having some final discussion time about chapel. Then, we’ll have some Canteen time and get ready for our final Junior High campfire of the year. Even though it rained earlier, the weather turned our perfect for a fire tonight. We are going to enjoy our last night together!
