Junior High 1, Day 2

Yesterday was quite the adventure!

During afternoon free time, the swimming area was a popular spot! With the hot weather, it was the perfect way to cool down. There were lots of fun tricks and jumps off the diving boards!

The evening game was filled with laughter, water and lots of smiles. The campers gave it their all trying to free their friends and find the hidden staff members who gave them “get out of jail free” cards. It was such a fun time!

Due to some rain, we got to do some new exciting activities. We did an action song marathon with fun songs like the Hippo Song, the Blind Man, Pharaoh Pharaoh, and a few more!

After that, we had chapel. Our speaker for the week, John Monsour, talked about how relationships were broken when sin entered the world. Thankfully, there is a way to restore them. Jesus came to save us from sin and broken relationships by drawing us closer to him. The answer to broken relationships is love. Jesus loves us so much he died for us, and we want his love for us to overflow from our hearts into other peoples lives.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about chapel on Monday night. What was something new they learned? Can they explain what John was saying in Genesis 3? What is one takeaway they had from the message?

To close out the night, we had a staff variety show!! This is a special treat for junior highers. Laughter filled the air as classic skits like the blue trolls and cool and creamy came back to the stage. After a full fun show, campers went to bed with smiles on their faces and goofy jingles stuck in their heads.

This morning, we did the polar dip, flag raising and had a delicious breakfast! After breakfast, campers went to clean their cabins and then started TAG time. TAG stands for time alone with God. This is a time when campers get to read their bible, a devotional, pray, or journal to connect with God in a personal way.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Ask your camper about TAG Time. What did they do? How did they connect with God? What was something they learned during that time?

As we look forward to the rest of the day, we have some fun activites planned. The volleyball tournament, zipline, lazertag, crafts, and evening chapel are all on the docket, plus many other fun activities. Pray that the campers will connect with God, and each other as we go throughout our day today.
