Spring Young At Heart Retreat (& Senior Day) have come and gone, and we are still experiencing the joy of the fellowship with so many dear friends! Camp Lebanon welcomed 55 senior adults for our three-night retreat, and saw nearly 185 additional guests arrive to spend the day with us on Senior Day! Guests delighted in plenty of delicious food & coffee, gorgeous sunny weather that was perfect for ziplining and pontoon rides, and joyful hymn-singing at every turn!
Seniors get to experience all the fun of Camp packed into one day on Senior Day, a chance for anyone who couldn’t come for the overnight retreat to travel up and visit for a day! Highlights from Senior Day were The Benson Family Singers concert, an encouraging message from our speaker Peter Johannsen, and lots of time in the beautiful outdoors – hikes, s’mores around the campfire, and even free zipline rides!
Bill and Lisa Abeler led a Camp Tour on Senior Day, taking anyone who wanted to join on a little trip around the camp grounds, casting vision and excitement for future plans. Some members of Camp staff were able to give reports on Tuesday as well, highlighting God’s faithfulness in the past year and looking forward to the great work He is still doing at His Camp!
After Senior Day, full retreat guests got to stay on and enjoy another peaceful day at Camp, with more chapel times, hymn-singing, and a nail-biting Carpetball Tournament (one of our favorite Young At Heart Retreat traditions)!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Young At Heart Retreat and Senior Day! We can’t wait for fall – save the date for Fall Young At Heart, September 16-19, 2019!
