We have officially welcomed Adventurers to Camp, and we could not be any more excited! Their pure joy, contagious laughter, and attitude for FUN are unmatched, and it is such a blessing to have them here. We started welcoming campers and directing them to their cabins around 4pm this afternoon, and since then, Camp has been filled with energy only these campers can provide!
After settling into their cabins and meeting their counselors, campers and their families could be found either making their way down to the swimming docks to take their swim tests, getting yummy treats from the canteen, or hanging out in the Hub before we all met at the Steps of Faith for Flag Lowering, Who’s Who, and dinner! Tonight was a picnic dinner, and cabins could be found all around the Hub with their counselors and their cabin buddies! Cabin buddies are Non-counseling staff at Camp, who get paired with each cabin for the week, and provide help and support to the counselor as needed. Plus campers love to have another friend that they can see around Camp during the week!
TAKE CAMP HOME
Talk to your camper about the first night of Camp. What was their favorite thing they did the first night? Can they tell you what Bobber Bill taught them about Creation in Chapel?
After dinner, each counselor takes their cabin on a tour of Camp, and then we all make our way into the Main Hall for rules and Chapel, where we heard from our speaker for the week, Bobber Bill! Tonight, Bobber Bill spoke about Creation. After Chapel, each cabin has some time for a Cabin Adventure before heading back into the Main Hall for the Staff Variety Show! Lots of giggles, and big smiles could be found during this fun time! Campers also got to enjoy a yummy snack during the show – popcorn! What a perfect way to end the night. Then, it is time for cabin devos and bed. These campers need a good night of rest before all the fun we have planned for tomorrow!
