Camp Lebanon News: May 2018

April Snow Showers Bring May Flowers!

We thought the snow would never end and the ice never leave. But May eventually arrived and the ice finally left (May 4 was the official ice out, two weeks later than average). With Spring’s explosion of green has also come a burst of ministry blessings. Men’s Advance! opened the fun, with 105 on hand to learn God’s “Man Code.” After a couple of rental weekends, Camp guided two trips to the Circle ‘C’ Ranch, first for Dads N Lads (148 guests) and then Mother-Daughter (180). The big highlight for the boys was a visit from wrangler Chad Coppes, who used his horses for a “Parable of the Horse” teaching biblical character traits. The girls enjoyed a wagon full of “Yee-Hah!” along with insights from the Lord’s Prayer.

Up next was the Spring Young at Heart (38) and Senior Day (130+).  “Showers of Blessing” with abundant SONshine were in the forecast. Young Adults (120+) kept the fires burning at YAR, even as Camp ramped up for another adventurous summer. With attendance running ahead of 2017, a great season of harvest is on the way. Pray!

‘Showers of Blessing’ Fall on Seniors

Blue skies. 75 degrees. Soft breeze off the lake.  The weather for the Spring Senior Day was perfect, but guests still looked up, expecting “Showers of Blessing!” And God sent them! A total of 170 friends were on hand, blessed by an inspiring chapel, afternoon fun (vision tour, s’mores, pontoon rides, and zipline!), and a concert featuring “Fun with Dick and Jane.” In response, seniors blessed Camp with a love offering of $6143 to help with facility improvements and scholarships. Indeed, when the Father REIGNS, the SON shines!
