It’s Closing Rally Day! Super Kids are on their way home, after celebrating an amazing week of Summer Camp. Parents arrived at 10am for the Closing Rally, right after campers had received their last Mail Call of the week (with the summer-long characters skit). It was time to show off our action song skills, our memory verses, and to award prizes to campers who won the fishing contest, Gorilla Gets the Man, and campers who went to Polar Dip every day this week! We also watched a video recap of the week (which is available on our YouTube Channel)!
Then we heard from our speaker, Jackson, who reminded us of what he had talked about all week. He also talked about how campers had each taken a post-it note to represent where they stand with Jesus. Pink meant that they still have questions about Jesus, Green meant they are ready to trust Jesus as their Mighty Savior, Purple meant that they already trust Jesus, but they want to start turning towards Him every day, and Blue meant they already trust Jesus as their Savior, and they want to share the Good News with others!
TAKE CAMP HOME
Ask your camper about the post-it notes that Jackson talked about. Did your camper take a post-it note? Do they remember what the colors mean? Talk to your camper about what color they chose and why!
Then it was time for pies! Campers memorize verses all week for a chance to pie a staff member of their choice! Staff say verses and get to put their name in the bucket to pie someone too! After pies, everyone grabbed the hands of the people around them and did the final tradition (see the video below)!
It was an amazing last week of Summer Camp, and an AMAZING summer of youth ministry at Camp Lebanon. Thank you so much for following along with us all summer! Let’s do it all again next year!
