Super Kids 1, Day 1

At 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, the bell rang at Camp Lebanon marking the beginning of camper check-in for the first summer camp of 2022.  Woohoo!!  The time since has been filled with joy and laughter and so much energy as campers passed their swim tests, played in the hub, learned the rules to have the Funnest Fun at Camp and enjoyed a picnic dinner with their cabin.

Campers gathered at the Amphitheater also called the Steps of Faith for Who’s Who as they met the staff and learned who their cabin friends are.  Cabin Friends get to enjoy meals with the cabin and offer extra support and care for their specific cabin throughout the week.

After Who’s Who and dinner, it was time for evening chapel.  Campers got more of their wiggles out with fun action songs like, “Lord I Life your Name on High”.  We met our speaker for the week, Zack Klein.  Zach shared his testimony with us and that the Lord has recently called him to Upsala with the instruction to share the good news with other people.  We are excited to hear what he has to share with us during the week as we look at the story of Lazarus.

God can use each person to accomplish his will, regardless of their age.
Ask God how he wants to use you?

TAKE CAMP HOME

Talk to your camper about the first night of Camp.  What do they remember doing with their cabin that first night?  What was something they were hoping to learn during their week?  Can they tell you any of the stories Zach told them?

This morning, campers had an opportunity to wake up with a quick dip in the lake.  The ‘Polar Dip’ is a favorite for many campers and there is an opportunity to win a prize for those who jump in every day.

After the wake-up bell, everyone gathered at the Steps of Faith to raise the Flag and do the morning movement.  We started learning our memory verse this morning and the action that go with it.

TAKE CAMP HOME

Our memory verse is John 11:25-26.

“Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live even though he die.  And anyone who lives believes in me, will never die.  Do you believe this?'”

Ask your camper to teach you the actions and try saying it together.

What a joy it is to hear excited shouts echo from all areas of the hub as Super Kids learn new skills following morning chapel.  After a time for skills, camper will go on cabin adventures where they may explore part of camp or try a new game.

Follow along with the blog throughout the week to keep up with our daily activities and don’t forget to check out the photo album.  Photos will be added throughout the day!
