It is time for Super Kids 2 here at Camp, and campers and staff alike are so excited for this week!
After settling in at their cabins, campers were able to take their swim tests, enjoy some games in the hub, and spend time with their cabin mates! This was followed by, “Who’s Who” at the Steps of Faith where campers got to meet camp’s staff and learn who their cabin friend for the week is! Once we lowered the flag, it was time for our evening meal – a picnic of burgers, veggies, chips, and ice cream enjoyed as a cabin!
After dinner, it is time to head over to the tent to learn about the Top 10 Rules and Guidelines for the Funnest Fun at Camp! Once we heard from the lifeguards and fishing grandparents about swimming and fishing rules, each cabin headed out on a tour of camp! Counselors showed their cabins important places around camp, such as the tent, Steps of Faith, the buddy board, and the bell tower. After camp tours, everyone reconvened at the tent for evening chapel, where campers met the speaker for the week, Maryn Post!
To end the first night on a fun note, we all meet in the main hall for the Staff Variety Show! Here, the campers get to watch as their counselors, and non-counseling staff get all dressed up in goofy costumes, and perform silly skits!
This morning at 7:40, the bell rang for Polar Dip! This is when campers can head on down to the waterfront and jump in the lake first thing in the morning! This is one of the fun ways to earn cabin points for your cabin! After that, we meet at the Steps of Faith for flag raising, a morning movement song, and to learn the first part of our memory verse for the week (John 11:25-26).
TAKE CAMP HOME
Talk to your camper about the first night of Camp. What do they remember doing with their cabin that first night? What were they most excited about? Can they show you any of the actions for our memory verse?
Next, it is time for morning chapel in the tent! To start off, we sing an action song, a worship song, and then we heard from a couple of missionaries this morning.
As we move into Skillz time, campers get to choose between different activities such as fort-making, or going on a nature walk!
